Gun views
My gun views are similar to Jared Polis’s gun views fused with the Libertarian Party’s gun views. I'm a strong supporter of the Second Amendment . I am a bit skeptical of gun control
I support the right to keep and bear arms. I support the right to bear arms as a civil liberty. I am against removing guns from the civilian populace
The US has such a long, deep gun loving culture, banning guns now won't work .
The reasons are, bad people will still get guns illegally because if those bad types of guns were illegal (which is what pro choice activists say about abortion being banned), guns would be worse than they are now since they would be unregulated due to the gun industry being pushed to the black markets , you can't compare the US to gun restricting countries due the relative uniqueness of the US and also due to its long gun culture.
Gun control laws are also counterproductive at worst and naive at best. Gun control advocates have already gotten enough victories
Gun violence is a public health crisis in the United States that disproportionately impacts communities of color. The vast majority of Americans support expanded background checks, 54 percent want a ban on assault weapons and 54 percent want a ban on high capacity magazines. We agree with the majority of the American people and support these measures. To enact common sense gun safety measures, we must break the NRA’s hold on our corrupt government and prioritize the mental and physical health of the people over the billion-dollar gun manufacturing industry’s bottom line. Justice Democrats
I can hold my nose and accept the bipartisan gun control law congress voted on in 2022. The sky wouldn’t fall if gun rights activists and gun owners tried to accept some common sense ideas for gun control (Chris Murphy has the right idea).
I am against gun confiscation. I wouldn't mind seeing all guns replaced with bows, crossbows and yumis but to do so would infringe upon the 2nd amendment (maybe something stronger than incentives for that exchange could be explored).
I do not support Justin Trudeau and Canada’s 2022 gun restrictions and bans , even if they pretend to have an excuse for it. Jokes on the Liberal Canadians, this freeze by Trudeau won’t freeze the sell of illegal handguns, per this article
Though this article on Justin Trudeau’s 2022 gun restrictions and bans gives me pause in my criticism of said gun restrictions and bans as it provides some rationale for the gun restrictions and bans. But I still can’t support those 2022 gun restrictions and bans either
I support gun rights for Left Libertarian reasons
I am against the government disarming working class citizens
I would get a Satisfactory+ grade from the late 19th century through mid 20th century NRA and a Cb grade from the mid 2010s NRA.
I support the gun control that the old NRA implemented from the late 19th century through the mid 20th century.

It was needed back then and it helped break our country transition out of the 'wild west' type gun ho/toting mentality to a relatively more gun responsible society. It certainly would not hurt for modern gun owners to be strongly encouraged to practice gun safety. If I sound too anti gun and too supportive of gun control, its only because I am betraying what I feel deep down inside in that I want the US to have the same gun control that the old NRA implemented from the late 19th century through the mid 20th century.
I even support some other pro gun control NRA like groups from back then
I would get a B or Excellent minus minus grade from the 1980s and 1990s NRA. I generally support former President Ronald Reagan's gun control laws in the 1980s
I would get a AQ grade with a floating B half minus grade by the late 2007 NRA
I would get a good competency (with needs improvement secondary grade) assessment in a Competency-based learning grading system from the modern NRA, and a b grade (a b is a letter grade between C and B), with a secondary grade of NI++ (Needs Improvement) that moves up to a secondary grade of Outstanding with extra credit the modern NRA in a regular grading system
I do not support the Brady Campaign or David Hogg’s anti gun activism. They cherry pick and manipulate data to make gun owners and gun rights look bad Any anti gun activist would wish they had a gun in certain situations . I oppose many aspects of gun control from the last decade or so
I am against the annual day to stop gun violence. I urge everyone not to wear orange each year on that gun grabbing, anti 2nd amendment, evil meaningless Liberal 2.0 day each year and to try to force corporations to ignore that dumb day each year
I want an annual anti day to end gun violence day to be held each year
I can't emphasize this enough: 94 percent of mass shootings were thwarted by a legal gun owner. People with guns are less likely to be victims of crimes.
I shouldn't have to say this since it should be obvious to gun control activists but gun control also has racist, homophobic and sexist elements to it .
Gun rights benefit African Americans, LGBTQ people and women, since for example African Americans can use guns to defend themselves against police brutality or against racists, LGBTQ people can use guns to protect themselves against bigots and women can use guns to protect themselves better.
See the Liberal gun owners group on Reddit for more reasons
The Left Wing SUPPORTS gun rights unlike Liberal 2.0ers/Progressives
No President since Ronald Reagan has passed more gun control laws than Donald Trump. His laws were a mixed bag. I am against the CDC gun thing, guns have nothing to do with diseases
I support open carry
I support bring your gun to work
I tolerate gun free zones to an extent
I am Radically centrist on teachers having non smart guns. But I support allowing teachers to carry smart guns voluntarily in case of school shootings even though shootings are extremely rare
I support the US being like Switzerland in terms of pro gun laws. But I also am ok with DC's gun laws and Australia's gun laws being implemented in the US in places I approve of that being implemented (I don’t believe that Australia’s strict gun laws should be applied in most of the US).
I am fine with Florida’s gun laws, especially Florida not allowing teens to buy guns
I do love Lauren Boebert's gun toting xmas portrait, since she looked hot
I believe gun laws should be more focused on geography than other things.
I support the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. I tolerate an initiative to create 2nd amendment sanctuaries at the local and county level gun rights sanctuary areas . With gun issues being hot button and varied this is a compromise to allow some flexibility
Also it wouldn't hurt if people were directed by gun sellers and gun people to the non bad guns if they were trying to buy the bannable types of guns.
I don’t think it is unreasonable for gun companies to pay a small fine when their product is used in mass shootings in order to realign incentives to deal with the issue of gun manufacturers' stocks profiting from mass shootings with their guns (though the MSM helps glorify mass shootings too so this would need to be done in conjunction with limiting the MMM’s exploitation of mass shootings
It was wrong for our government to give 60,000 to the Los Zetas. We should be helping our neighbors not fighting with them. It's wrong the US government supplied Northern Mexico with guns. That lead to a lot of deaths there, we should work with Mexican migrants not against them.
bans
We've been giving gun control activists our gun rights little by little for too long.
We need to use better mental health counciling, deescaltion prevention techniques etc to prevent mass shootings and thus prevent the usual reactionary calls for gun control which always follow mass shootings (the media is more to blame for mass shootings than guns since the media gives the shooters the attention they seek)
I believe its abelist and wrong to ban mentally handicapped people from buying guns.
I would not be triggered, upset, depressed or offended if the US brings back its 1994-2004 assault weapons ban which would also keep existing assault weapons in circulation but ban the sales of new ones because we would be going back to something we are used to, but I don’t support such a ban either.
I do not support a ban on assault weapons, it will not work and such a thing is not based on the way those weapons function. of the weapons. Assault weapon bans are mixed to ineffective. Most gun deaths are done with handguns, not assault rifles.
Instead I believe we should lower the amount of guns (all types) in the US to a level where we know will significantly reduce gun violence (even if it doesn’t). The US has more guns than any other country on Earth. Less guns less government control since a lot of guns and government control goes together hand in hand
This does not mean via fascists coming for our guns, it just means EITHER having gun companies create a little less guns and assault weapons than they do now, and having semi private NGOs incentive people to throw away their guns
OR implement a common sense licensing policy for guns which also allows people who don’t get their gun licenses or who are deterred from getting a gun after waiting a long time for a gun license, to instead be given free stun gun-taser(s), free airsoft guns, free mace-pepper sprays and a free state of the art alarm system but if and when they get their gun license they have to return that stuff .
I support closing the Charleston loophole
I support smart guns to prevent innocent people from firing them (like kids) and using incentives for gun owners to get smart guns
I support making guns as restrction free to legal citizens as they are (or perceived to be by conservatives) for illegals only if illegals have more gun rights than legal citizens, otherwise, no
I am ok with incrementally limiting the size of magazines to ten or eleven and a half rounds, and to make purchasing a gun for someone not legally allowed to have one a more serious (but not Federal) crime.
I support expanded red flag laws as opposed to a universal background check . However, I recognize that some good-faith (big tent) opinions on universal background checks
I support other red- and yellow-flag laws to remove firearms from people who might be a risk to themselves or to others.
I am other side political post position on expansive background checks to most gun transactions with exceptions for transfers between family members
I am neutral on bump stock bans but I am sure there was a good reason for creating bump stocks in the first place. But if bump stock bans allow ban able guns like semi assault rifles to stay legal I guess they are alright
I do not support requiring a gun license to purchase a gun
I support between incremental to slightly more than moderate shift to smart guns and gun manufactors creating less guns of all types
I do want some specific guns to be banned but I would not lose sleep over gun owners circumventing that ban by buying legal guns and customizing those legal guns to be similar to the banned guns.
I am glad Elizabeth Warren is anti gun, she is the gun salesperson of the 2000s and 2010s due to her anti gun extremism
I have a triangulation to ok position on stand your ground laws
Are gun control activists who are pro choice hypocrites for not being pro choice on guns too ?
I have no issues with anti gun celebrities being hypocrites on guns (like Alyssa Milano or Michael Moore). If I was them , I’d be a “hypocrite” too .I sort of like Alberta Canada’s gun laws
Some of my other views on gun control are militantly moderate and match some views on that issue from the book Mediations of a Militant Moderate https://books.google.com/books?id=VMZHuyK5NTsC&lpg=PP1&pg=PA1#v=onepage&q&f=false
I shot a bebe gun as a kid at my friend's house and it felt great. However I admit I get uneasy around gun owners.
